FORT NOTHEThe ACWS's Crimean re-enactors (19th Foot and 11th Hussars) have been invited to a Victorian Military Tattoo at Fort Nothe, Weymouth, Dorset, on the weekend of 19th/20th September 2009. Camping from Friday. The organisers have intimated that they would like as many Victorian Living Historians to be present at this event, so it is possible that their invite may be thrown open to any ACWS member who can dress and re-enact as Victorian civilians to support the Victorian military and civilian groups already invited. Therefore, subject to confirmation from the organisers, I am extending their invite to ACWS members to attend this high profile event. For administration purposes, they would need to be attached to either the 19th Foot or the 11th Hussars, but should be able to set up their own living history camp area separate to the military camps. Period food will be provided for lunch on Saturday and Sunday and on Saturday evening there will be an evening meal and various drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), all provided free of charge. If you are interested in taking part in this event, then please contact myself or Roger Willison-Gray, and we will register your interest. All attendees must pre-register.
