Drum Major

Drum Major John Fairfield has expressed the intention of retiring from that post by the end of this season. Its a big job, and he's not getting any younger, so he wants to hand over to another in an orderly way, whilst still being supportive to his successor, and attending events when he can.

Consideration has been given to this important post, interviews held and recommendations made. Having taken advice, your Board of Directors are happy to appoint Eddie Ellison to be the successor Drum Major. He has accepted this post.

Eddie is in the 43rd NC, and I am sure we will all give him our full support, as he takes on this key role, and continues to "grow the Drums".The job of Drum Major is, of course, bipartisan, as is the Corps of Drums, and anybody interested in joining and learning the job should speak to him at an event.

Willing Drummers and Fifers always welcome don't need necessarily to be able to play: training will be given.

So, welcome newly appointed Drum Major Ellison!
