EDITORIAL
For those of you who do not know me, that can't be many. I have been re enacting with the 69 NYSV since the 1998 season. I do not need to tell you that this is my first newsletter and I am just finding my way about. Most of this one will be taken up by the minutes of the A.G.M . which was held last December. It is also the last newsletter you will receive if you do not pay your 2008 fees. I want to thank Kevin Holden for the splendid newsletters he produced over the years and hope I can do half as well. I have big shoes to fill, and I can only do that with your help. This is your newsletter. What do you want in it? I have been going through past newsletters and I have noticed that the 'Ladies' both North and South are not catered for. I am not talking about the 'female soldier' I mean the 'Ladies'. Come on ladies you are re enactors too. How about a few articles from you. Thank you to those who have given me articles for future newsletters. Events may look a little thin on the ground now that we have lost Harperly and Sedgefield. Hopefully these will take place next year. I know Viv and Andy are still searching for new events and following up leads on others. Let's not be downhearted we can still enjoy our hobby and give our all into the events we have so far. Congratulations to Bill Brown on his election to Confederate Commander. He will have some long trips this year, but then the Scots lads always do. Well that's all I have to say for now. Except 'Keep your powder dry' and see you at the first event. Val Holt |
