Union News or Nick's Utterings
All quiet on the Potomac tonight so to speak, although some of you have already done some training weekends I hope each regiment will have been looking to improve their overall impressions, regarding uniforms, camps etc., and looking at their own minimum standard for the regiment that they portray, which will reflect on the Federal battalions overall impression. I would like to welcome the 118th Pennsylvania into the ranks of the federal battalion. Phil Golder will be their C.O. They were part of the 20th Maine who have now left the A.C.W.S. and joined S.O.S.K.A.N. I wish them all the best. Some of the 20th Maine have joined other regiments in the A.C.W.S. I would like to remind all company C.O’s to encourage members of their units to rejoin as soon as possible as they will not receive a copy of this Newsletter. Anyway I look forward to seeing you all at the first event. Yours in the cause, Major Nick Richards, C.i.C., Federal Battalion, ACWS |
