BATTALION!Well the first season of the new structure? All I can say is thank you one and all I have felt so proud to be apart of the changes and you owe its success to yourselves each and every last one of you. We have had criticism and doubt, and you have come through with flying colours. Morale is probably the highest I have seen for quite some time, discipline and enthusiasm shows in all you do! You are now the Battalion ,none has lost their individualism no one has gone through total change, you have worked and played so hard and a feeling of pride glows from the ranks and a sense of comradery abounds. On the field you are a sight to see drill seems to be enjoyed and from this you have taken the spirit back onto the camps , I watched everyone at Sheffield each night it was so good to see a party atmosphere all within keeping of the period , the sound of choirs and banjos filled the air people laughing and sharing our unique hobby, the battles though small were awesome with fire power like I have never seen from small numbers, again I am proud of you all. Let us take this and renew the hearts of the members who have stayed away for their own reasons, let us rebuild to full strength the Confederate army of ACWS. Recruits and send word to those members we are back! better than before and we will get better as we go, I believe with your participation the battalion will go from strength to strength. Battalion I salute you ! Major Alan Colquitt, C.i.C., Confederate Battalion |
