2-5th April - EASTER TRAINING WEEKEND - CONFIRMED

Easter holiday weekend event at West Wales Museum of Childhood, Pen-ffynnon, Llangeler, Carmarthenshire, SA44 5EY.

Authentic and family camping available (family camp area for tents, but only 3 caravan/motorhome places available please contact Claire Morris to register if you need a place). Camping available from Good Friday through to the following Tuesday. Facilities include:- water; indoor toilets; showers; tea-room; toy museum

Society Training Weekends at Tatton Old Hall, Tatton Park, Knutsford, Cheshire, WA16 6QN.
Delightful site in the middle of beautiful Chesire countryside.
Members camping available from Friday until Sunday. No arrivals before 15.00 hours on Friday, gates will close at 21.00 hours Friday and 19.00 hours Saturday. They open again at 07.00 hours each morning, Sunday evening last exit will be 21.00 hours.
Private training on SATURDAY and SUNDAY.

19-20th June - STANFORD HALL, Leics - CONFIRMED

Full society event at Stanford Hall, nr Stanford-on-Avon, Leicestershire, LE17 6DH, (M1 J19).
Members camping available from Friday afternoon until Monday, this year at the front of the house once again. Self-sponsored event.
There will be a beer tent available on Friday and Saturday evenings, the same one as Rockingham with a good range of drinks at reasonable prices.
Private events on SATURDAY and Public Battle on SUNDAY.

Eynsham Carnival, Oxford Road Playing Field, Oxford Road, Eynsham, nr Witney Oxfordshire, OX29 4HG. Eynsham is a really lovely village with eight pubs, two chippies and a Chinese takeaway.

The site itself is overlooking the Solway Firth and in the distance Scotland, the local population will be boosted by holiday makers and to our knowledge we have never been in this area before, an absolute gem of an event to recruit those much needed new recruits.

English Heritage Multi-Period Event - Festival of History, at Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire

ACWS members have been invited to participate as Boer Infantry in the main arena at this event.

24-25th July - GLEMHAM HALL, SUFFOLK - CONFIRMED

Organised by EventPlan, Salute For Heroes, a multi-period event at Glemham Hall, Suffolk IP13 0BT, with over 1000 performers celebrating our military forces, the emergency services and other heroes past and present, staged by the Suffolk supporters of Help for Heroes and with all profits donated to this extremely worthy charity.
ACWS have been engaged to provide massed artillery batteries only, but all members are welcome to attend and support the artillery. SoSkAn will also be in attendance running the ACW battle and ACWS members have been invited to guest with them for the battles under SoSkAn rules if they are not taking part in the artillery displays.

14-15th August - SPETCHLEY MULTI-PERIOD - CONFIRMED

M5 Multi-period event at Spetchley Park Gardens, Spetchley, Worcester, WR5 1RS, organised by the Worcester Re-enactors.
There will be an area for traders (craft and re-enactment), beer tent and food traders during the day for the public and beer tent in the evening for the re-enactors.

18-19th September - INGLETON - CONFIRMED

Small event to finish the year with in stunning surroundings on the edge of the Yorkshire moors at Waterfalls Field, Ingleton, North Yorkshire, LA6 3EP.
This is predominantly Living History with drill and firing displays. There is room for 50 'A' frames, soem plastic tents and 4-5 caravans/motor homes. There is a café on site with flushing loos accessible.

ACWS - Events Calendar

2nd-3rd October - MURTON PARK, York- CONFIRMED

Another small event to finish the year at the Yorkshire Farming Museum, Murton Park, Murton Lane, Murton, York, YO19 5UF, hosted by the U.S. Staff and U.S. Signals.
Living History event where we can use the buildings on the site. 22nd Foot will be billeted in the Tudor Farm House while the Federal and Confederate troops fight over possession of the fort. Whose flag will flutter over the fortification at the end of the day?
There are excellent facilities on site, flushing loos, water cafe and an area for family camping. Fire wood will be supplied for Living History but suggest bringing a little of your own for the evening blaze.
Whilst there is plenty of room at the venue it would be useful to know of expected attendance so that an area can be allocated for the authentic camps.
Martin Clark of The Rockbridge Artillery has kindly volunteered and will be liaison with the site management and assisting Andy Hopwood with the running of the event.

4th December - ACWS AGM & CHRISTMAS PARTY - CONFIRMED

The ACWS Annual General Meeting and The ACWS Christmas Party are to be held on the same day at the The Nautical Club, 5-6 Bishopsgate Street, Birmingham, B15 1ET, on Saturday 4th December 2010. The AGM will be held in the afternoon at 1 PM and the Dance in the evening from 7.30 PM until midnight.

Period Costume is optional. Close to New Street and Snow Hill railway stations, plus local train station Five Ways. Ample parking
